Dont get eegcited sorry about, that I am no chicken expert just started a small page about my own experiance of looking after some chickens. All i know about chickens is that they lay eggs.
Been fancying gettings some for while Although I am sure you could keep them in a council house garden.
So eventually ordered some from a firm on the Black Isle near Inverness just 4 for now I may get more later as i have plenty ground for them to have a wander and eat some grass, they really seem to enjoy anything green i have them in a run but they get out for bit of scratching about to see what they can find.
Only one seem to be laying so far it took about 3 weeks for the first egg a double yoker, hope the others start soon.
At the moment it takes a few mornings to get a good fryup.
Really worth getting some if you have been thinking about it The eggs hold together very good compared to some factory eggs Also they have a lovley colour and taste. Tough shells as well I suppose because they lay at their own pace..
Only seem to be cost about a couple of pound a week had them 5 weeks and still never finished my first bag of pellets, which cost about £8.
More info when i get time Maybe i should start a Twitter account for them..
Look,s like another chicken has learned how to lay an egg, two this morning.
